FAQ

How are Shred One employees trained in paper shredding services?

All Shred One Drivers and Driver's Assistants are trained in the proper use of shredding equipment, safety, and emergency procedures and possess Commercial Driver’s Licenses. All Access Individuals are trained in company policies, procedures, and protocols as well as privacy laws and regulations (HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and others) to provide our clients with the highest levels of service and security.

How is stored material kept safe before it is shredded?

We provide routine scheduled customers with secure, lockable containers with hand guards for storing confidential materials between services. It is up to the customer to keep containers in a safe place. On the day of your service, the container remains locked until it reaches our truck, where it is hydraulically lifted and placed inside a protective tunnel and tipped into the shredding mechanism.

What happens if our container is full before the regularly scheduled service time?

Simply call our office and we will gladly schedule an earlier pick up for you.

What happens to the paper after it has been shredded?

100% of the paper that we shred is recycled. It is baled and sent to paper mills where it is de-inked, pulped, and turned into other materials like tissue paper or paperboard. It never remains in its original form and is never used for any other purpose.

What size jobs do you accept?

We accept any size job. No job is too big or too small for us to handle. We shred hundreds of tons of paper per month for clients ranging from small residential customers to large institutions and Fortune 500 companies. Scheduled service clients range from one container serviced on a monthly basis to hundreds of containers serviced every week.

Do you recycle?

Yes. We recycle 100% of the paper we shred.

Why use a shedding company if we already recycle?

Recycling companies are in the business of getting the highest dollar amount for their paper as possible. Paper is sorted by hand into different grades and baled for anyone and anyone to see and prey on. Using our on site paper shredding service, all your materials are destroyed at your premises in one of our state of the art document shredding vehicles. Using our totally mechanized system, we never even have to touch your confidential documents. The bins are hydraulically lifted directly into the shredder automatically. You are welcome to witness the destruction process via a television monitor on each truck.

Why use a shredding service instead of using your own shredder?

Save money and time! It will cost you much more to use an office shredder than to use Shred One. The cost of the shredding machine, maintenance, labor cost, office space, maintenance, and disposal cost all add up to much more than our fee and we do everything for you! We even provide you with a Certificate of Destruction for your records. We save you from the noise, mess and dust created by your office shredder. More reasons to shred...

Why is On Site better than Off Site Shredding?

With on site shredding all materials are destroyed at your premises in one of our state of the art document shredding vehicles. With our touch free system, we never touch your confidential documents. Everything is hydraulically lifted directly into the shredder automatically.
